Individual Therapy
Starting therapy is difficult, it's hard to reach out and say I could use some help. I get that -- and will work with you to create a safe place for exploration. I will not be a passive observer of your experience, rather more of co-explorer, actively assisting you to go into deeper, more vulnerable places of healing.
Children and Families
As a relational therapist, in working with children, I use play therapy and playful interaction as a way to access some of the unconscious processes at work in the child's mind. Imagininative play is a safe way for children to communicate and process their experiences. Play can help children process difficult experiences with new experiences and create new realities.
I find it most helpful to involve the parent in the therapy. I would seek to work closely with you in the treatment, whether we do parent child sessions or family sessions.
Couples
In working with couples, I seek to work collaboratively with you as a couple to explore the relational patterns that often become restrictive and rigid. We will work together to create new relational patterns that will allow for more emotional closeness and engagement. My training is in Emotionally Focused Therapy, which incorporates Attachment theory with systems and experiential theories.
